Partiamo da una considerazione iniziale: fare libri, oltre ad essere un mestiere come un altro, è anche una passione. Amiamo leggerli, sfogliarli, respirare il profumo della carta. Soprattutto ci piace inventarli, partendo da un’idea che diventa una proposta editoriale concreta, e poi un progetto grafico, quindi un menabò, ossia un prototipo di ciò che sarà il volume finale.
Ci appassiona seguire, passo dopo passo, le varie fasi che vanno dall’impaginazione alla creazione dei contenuti, dalla scelta delle immagini – che possono essere fotografie, disegni, fumetti, tavole illustrate – al tipo di carta e al formato. Se necessario, diamo il nostro supporto allo stampatore, da cui il libro nasce, foglio dopo foglio, per poi giungere in legatoria, dove assume l’aspetto che tutti conosciamo. Insomma, non lasciamo nulla al caso ed è per questo che possiamo garantire la massima affidabilità, anche grazie a una serie di partner e di collaboratori di provata esperienza che, come noi, fanno questo mestiere anche per passione.
Let’s start with an important point – as well as being a profession, making books is a passion. We love reading them, browsing through them, smelling their pages. But we also like inventing them. An original idea develops into a real publishing proposal, then a graphic project, then a dummy – or prototype – of what will become the final volume. We love following each of the phases – creating the contents and laying out the pages, choosing the images, whether they’re photos, drawings, comic strips or illustrated tables and then selecting the type of paper and the format. When necessary, we help the printer, where the book actually comes into being, page by page, before then going on to the binder, where it finally takes on the appearance we all know. We don’t leave anything to chance.
